Artist Statement

This is a continuation work installation, after the series of ladders sculptures.
Also, it is the final piece that marks an end to the relationship between me and my father who passed away, in the work of art.

“The last time, I ever saw him, is through my dream.
He was dressed in all white, standing outside our house.
I opened the door and I left the gate remain locked.
And we stared at each other for minutes...
no smile, no emotions ... expressionless.”

A closed door is a representative of realising the boundaries between the 2 different worlds.
Alternatively, is also represents ‘closing the door to the past’.

“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”
