Artist StatementThis work is inspired by my recurring dream.
On many nights, I have dreamt of myself committing suicide on a high-rise building.
This dream is a constant reminder of my insecurities.
It is a warning sign for me to further rediscover myself.
Derived from a previous work made up of a single transparent ladder,
the installation consists of a dream-like scene of nine ladders.
They are displayed so that they seem to be falling onto the viewers.
This creates a sense of anxiety and helplessness that is often felt in relation to the common phobia of fear of falling.
The sense of unease and uncertainty is further heightened by the materials used in the work. At the same time, they question and reconsider
the significance of an object that usually symbolizes strength and stability.
